Choosing my favourite book is like asking me to choose my favourite child, I just can't, I have so many, so it was tough whittling it down to just 10! Do you have that go-to book you reach for that brings sunshine on a rainy day? A book that warms your heart, inspires you and makes you smile? I tried to cover different life areas, I wonder how many of these you have? Some of these titles may surprise you! If you don't yet have these books you need to get them ASAP. There is something special about books. As much as I love all the amazing advances in technology, and always have an audiobook on the go, there is something beautiful about the touch, smell and feel of an actual book. I like to turn pages and yep on occasions when no suitable bookmark can be found, I have been known to dog-ear a page or two. Below is my list of favourite mood lifting books in no particular order. “101 Moments of Joy & Inspiration”This is one for your desk or coffee table, or even by your bed. You can flick open a page and read an uplifting quote first thing in the morning, which can really set the tone for your day. Filled with sage quotes and affirmations this book is beautifully illustrated and easy to use. “The Happy Life” Lola BerryLola has been an absolute fave in our home since her first book; The 20/20 Diet! We dig the same stuff and with our shared love of food, meditation, yoga, crystals and mermaids, Lola brings fun and happiness to the dinner table through her delicious ‘epic’ recipes, tips and beautiful nature. Jump on board the Lola Train! “Rich Dad Poor Dad” Robert KiyosakiI wish I had read this book sooner! Robert takes you on a journey growing up with two Dads and how he learned the difference between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ debt, business, investing, saving and lots of tips. Basically he teaches you how he became a squillionaire after being in massive debt. No matter your financial situation, there are lessons to learn here for everyone that will definitely increase your financial happiness! “Tuesdays With Morrie” Mitch Albom This is an inspiring true story written by a former student about his mentor and former college professor Morrie Schwatz. It is about their rekindled relationship and an imparting of honest wisdom shared by a dying man to his former student. This easy to read book is both heartwarming and insightful. “You Can Heal Your Life” Louise L. HayWithout sounding over-dramatic, this best selling book saved my life! I was at a really low place when I first read it. This book really resonated with me and so many millions of others on the planet! Louise is a best selling author, speaker, publisher, spiritual coach, entrepreneur and all round ball of love. Her messages are relatable and authentic and really can bring about life long change, by changing your thoughts. This is a go-to book in our home! This will transform your life bringing happiness into your mind, your life and your home. “Oh The Places You’ll Go” Dr. SuessThis is the last of his works that he wrote and illustrated and I’m sure it’s a winner in most households. This fictional little story is a powerful one. It is a book to inspire and teaches the message of perseverance. It also encourages us to take adversity in our stride and tackle each challenge as it presents. The kids will love this one, as they do, all Dr Suess, and adults will enjoy the lessons and wisdom it imparts. “Shift Happens!” Robert Holden Shift Happens! is about personal and inner transformation. Robert reminds us we can choose to either ‘go’ through or ‘grow’ through life. This book is a celebration of our ability to embrace growth and our absolute potential, regardless of the shi*t/shift thrown our way. It’s about allowing miracles and how everything we could ever want in our lives is only a thought away. It reminds us that letting go, trusting and self-belief can truly be what alters the course of our lives in new and positive ways. “30 Minute Meals” Jamie Oliver Jamie really is the ‘other’ man in my life. Some of these dishes are our go to faves. Charlie is fully aware about my feelings for Jamie. Jamie brings happiness into our home via his brilliance of sharing how to cook some truly delish food in 30 minutes as the name suggests. Look I have never actually timed it but what takes Jamie 30 minutes could take me 45 minutes to an hour, and I’m ok with it I just imagine him standing next to me in the kitchen saying “Happy days!” Jamie is like bacon; he makes everything better! “The 5 Love Languages – The Secret To Love That Lasts” |
